As a child in a military family—Raymond traveled and lived in many places including France and Germany. His travels had a great influence upon his outlook on myths and cultures from other peoples around the world. He and his wife raised three children while residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Raymond worked in health care for over forty years and now dedicates his time painting and writing.
